sunburn on workday..

So yes I have my first Australian sunburn, and it hurts.... I was out working in the orchard and didn t put sunscreen on the back of my neck, then we went to the beach and I don t think that made it any better!

The beach was super fun though, we drove out to Kiama and then walked up to the blowhole. It was WAY better than the ones in Hawaii. After that we walked into town for ice cream :). Unfortunately I got blisters on my feet and it rubbed enough that it started to bleed. So, I got a box of bandaids.... :P.

Despite all my sores and sunburns I had a good time and was glad the whole school got to go out all together. Starting next week we are just going to be doing special outings with our family group.

I think thats pretty much it, other than that the secret brother gifts that I have been giving have been going over well! Off to research and write an amazing biblestudy, so I will write soon ;)

Valentines Day

So after today I'm pretty sure that it's going to take ALOT to impress me on Valentines. The Capernwray guys remade the song http://www.elyrics.net/read/u/uncle-kracker-lyrics/follow-me-lyrics.html (Follow Me) to sing to us as an invitation and after they served us dinner, they escorted us to our seats and made our evening very memorable :). After that dinner the girls felt that decorating the lecture hall and making valentines, decorating cupcakes as well as leaving chocolates wasn't enough. I think that sometimes instead of trying to repay something great with something better, its best to just say thankyou and look for little ways to bless the person or people who made you feel so special and loved. Since all the girls have a secret brother for the week, there are plenty of opportunities!  The guys don't seem to like not knowing who is leaving them gifts, and they have resorted to studying handwriting.... I won't be leaving my books around!

I also got a bouquet of chocolate roses from my valentine :), as well as a box of chocolates from my secret sister! I think this Valentines Day I have gotten more gifts then I have for all the valentines days I've been alive.

Kyle bought Nicole a flower plant and Taylor got a dozen roses from her family back in PEI! I'm hoping that letters come from home for me soon!!!

Tomorrow morning my family group gets to sleep in and go for breakfast at Cass and Garths' house, for bacon and eggs!! This will be a nice change from our regular toast and cereal. Then after a short 3 hr workday, we may go to the beach, God-willing...

Hmmm, last matter of business. I made the cut for the trip to Hong Kong and we will most probably be booking our flights tomorrow afternoon! The reason this is in smaller writing is because although I get to go to Hong Kong it hasn't been announced yet but I trust you all not to blab ;)

HAPPY VALENTINES DAY, ALL!!!!

Hong Kong

So, I still don't know for sure if I am going to be traveling to Hong Kong for spring break.... we had our second meeting today and 6 people showed up! I just finished my interview with Woodsy and I think he is going to let us know by the end of today who the team is. I definitely spoke the answers from my heart, which made me emotional.... but I know that if God wants me in Hong Kong that he'll let Woodsy know.

On a brighter note, today at breakfast all the girls got asked out on a valentines dinner date for tomorrow. (candlelight!) All the guys came into the main lounge singing, and it was really sweet! I think all the girls were impressed :) Tomorrow is going to be a great day and if it's nice out on wednesday, we will get to go to the beach!

Hmm, Sunday school yesterday went by fantastic. We talked about angels and Satans fall from heaven. I think the kids were pretty interested! The kids range from 3yrs to 12 yrs, and Alannah is the youngest. She tells everyone to call her "Big Girl Snuffy " the dog ;). Its really cute but I feel so dumb calling her that lol. There was finally some people close to my age at church this wekk which was really cool. SN@ C was great again! They didn't get as high of a mark as us but they tried super hard and did awesome!

Well its thundering outside and pouring rain.... maybe even some hail too. I will try and let you know how tomorrow goes! I'm looking forward to it ;)

Centipedes

There are honestly centipedes, everywhere! Dead, or alive there are heaps ;). The meeting with Pastor Mark went really well! He drove us to his house where pretty much his whole family was home and we all talked about church. theology and why we came to Capernwray. We drank cappacinos and ate TimTams, as well as caramel sponge cake. He said that we are welcome to come over anytime since his house is about 2 min into Moss Vale. I told him about all the stuff we are required to pay for at the school and he said we were welcome to use his internet as well!

Last Night a bunch of the girls and guys who didn't have youthgroup worked out to an aerobics and abs video, it was actually alot of fun mostly because one of the guys overly exaggerated the aerobics. I am quite sore today.

After that we played animal snap for five minutes before watching law abiding citizen, It was a pretty decent movie! Not everyone ended up watching like we'd planned because they went to Street Meat which is an outreach thing where they cook sausages outside and hand them out to whoever is at the pubs at night.

I should probably get up and go to breakfast.... I have to get to work on my biblestudy and then make a quick trip into town before coming back and working more on my biblestudy! I really should finish either today before going to see The Vow, or sunday morning before afternoon church....

It's Friday, Friday...

YES, even here the Rebecca Black song is being sung :P. So Valentines is coming up and I can't write what we are doing just in case anyone that is at the school reads this.(you'll find on on Valentines though)  I can tell you this , there is lots of planning to do! This weekend all the girls are going to go see The Vow!! SO excited for that!

I have a meeting with the pastor of my church today at 2pm, so hopefully that goes well and I find out what my job will be at the church! Rachel and I are the only ones with afternoon church so we are also the only two at the school sunday morning. Maybe this week I'll accomplish something with that time!

Its the second last day of my bathroom priviledge and then I will get a different job, Olivia hopes that I don't get put on morning set and serve because she wants to sleep in ;).

Bible study

So I also have to write a biblestudy outline for this week and started today, hoping to be done on friday :). We listened to one of the second semester students biblestudy and she did a really great job.

The IT guy came today so now the internet works in the girls dorms, the boys still have to wait!

So my room is directly in front of "The Four Seasons" (fancy name for the guys dorms). For the past two nights, they have been really noisy which makes it hard to fall asleep. I always leave the window open so that the room is cool and apparently their windows are open too, sometimes even the curtains! hah. I hope they can't hear or see into our room as well as Olivia and I can for theirs!

I'm pretty sure that God has given me the go ahead for the missions trip to Hong Kong, I'm just a little worried about who the other people are that want to go... I know it shouldn't matter....so pray for me in that regard!

Also, today I hurried to eat lunch so that I could call and talk to my grandma. After I left the table one of the guys asked my friend if grandma was code for "boyfriend" and one of the other guys replied with, "I'll check facebook". Don't worry friends and family, I am not without teasing! I also hear "Its all about Brianna" at least five times a day, lots of fun. Can't lie though, I don't mind the attention.

So... I think thats about it other than the fact that Olivia and I got commended for having the cleanest, most organized room ;)

Workday

So, first full workday and it went pretty well! I prayed the night before and asked God for a fairly nice day since I was scheduled to work outside, he pulled through of course :). It started out really nice and the sun was out, Rachel and I were on van cleaning duty which I found amusing. So far the jobs I've had are cleaning bathrooms (which I don't do very often at home) and cleaning vehicles inside and out( also something I don't do often)! Interesting... haha anyways I was almost done cleaning the van when Neil (principal) came and drove it into town, he said he would bring it back so I could finish but that never happened... After van cleaning, we were giving the task of cleaning all the outside lights and were given a stepladder, sponge and broom! Lots of cobwebs in those lights and I saw another interesting spider. No need to worry, no screaming here....yet! After that we were instructed to clean the bread van which is a van with no seats that they use to carry the leftover bakery bread. The outside was easy enough to clean with the sponge and water hose (I may have "accidentely" got some people wet") but once we got inside we saw that moss was growing inside the van. Please pray for a new bread van, or even an old one with no moss! All of a sudden while we are cleaning Rachel screams and starts running to the front of the van, so I do too. I didn't realize at the time but the van had started rolling forward toward the tool shed and Rachel was runing to the front of the bus to stop it. Emma also saw what was happening and tried to jump in the van from the outside but forgot which side the brake was on! Well, due to our inability to stop the van, it hit the tool shed, narrowly missing the water pipe and bringing us to a halt. Quite the little adventure, and by this time God decided that we had had enough nice weather and since I was getting people wet, he decided he needed to wash his van and "accidentely" get me ;)!
