will see visions, your old men will dream dreams. Acts 2:17
In life as
well as in literature... seriously an interesting phrase that I was taught to
use in highschool to write English papers. Isn't literature often based on
real-life experience, making the phrase infinitely true. Can you write on
anything that is completely imagined, or did something have to happen for you
to think that very thing? I'm not sure, sometimes I am confused as to which is
reality and what is imagined. I mean, where do our dreams really come from. Why
do I dream about a certain person, or an event that has never taken place. God
can give us dreams, yes, but my dreams are not always godly. In the bible god
gave dreams to kings and rulers that had need of interpretation and turned out
to be of great importance. Joseph interpreted dreams and Jacob had a dream
about a stairway to heaven. God spoke in dreams, and he definitely can do so
today. I don't hear about it though, and I have to wonder if it's because we
are not open to the possibility that some of our dreams could mean something.
What if we were to pray before going to bed, for a dream, a dream with meaning. God could
definitely answer with a no, but another answer is possible. Yes. Yes, I can
give you a dream with meaning, Yes I can tell you something while you dream,
Yes you can have good dreams, Yes. What would you do with that though, would
you ask God for an interpretation, or simply say, that was nice. Sometimes I
think that we don't try hard enough in our relationship with God, we WANT it to
be easy, so we do the minimum. We go to church on Sunday, and.... well what else
do you do? Do you read your bible once in.... hmmm when was the last time? What
about devotions, or simply just being still and waiting on God, maybe listening
to him for a change. Do you JUST go to him when you have a problem or do you
thank him for all the blessings. When a situation arises, do you immediately
ask him what you should do, or are you SO busy trying to plan your own life that
you don't stop and ask, "God, what are your plans?"
